New Jersey - The four thugs accused of savagely killing a young Hoboken lawyer in a New Jersey mall’s parking garage have extensive criminal histories — and one had been released from jail just four days before the slaying.

Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry, 32, and Kevin Roberts, 33, all of Newark, and Hanif Thompson (picture), 29, of Irvington, were all busted. Each is being held on $2 million bail.

The four face a slew of charges in the Dec. 15 killing, including murder, carjacking, conspiracy and weapons possession, authorities said Saturday. Authorities refused to name the triggerman who shot Friedland point-blank in the head.  More

Witnesses said the 51-year-old Santa and his 31-year-old female helper were both visibly drunk as they rode a horse-drawn sleigh down a busy road in Ustrzykach Dolnych and they were thrown from the vehicle when a car horn spooked their horse, the British newspaper the Mirror reported.

Prison authorities say Francis Karuri, who is on death row in Kenya, chopped it off because he missed out on receiving a Presidental pardon that would have brought him his freedom.

Karuri was sent to Kenyatta Nation Hospital 13 hours after the incident where doctors were unable to reattach the organ.

He had been following proceedings of the Uhuru ceremony where 50 prisoners were sent free by the country's president.

President Uhuru Kenyatta did not include Karuri on his list and the prisoner took the news very badly.

After castrating himself, Karuri continued to mop the floor of his cell before passing out due to a loss of blood, say sources.  More

New York - A sticky-fingered socialite is spending Christmas on Rikers Island instead of in her Southampton mansion — as punishment for swiping a pricey sweater from a Madison Avenue boutique.

Stefanie Lackner, the wife of Fisher Island Club CEO Bernard Lackner, landed 30 days in jail last week for lifting the $5,135 Brunello Cucinelli garment.

Lackner, 46, entered the high-end fashion shop a few blocks from the Douglas Elliman office where she is a Realtor in August 2012 and made the grab, according to Manhattan Criminal Court documents.

The pretty blonde first popped into a fitting room to try on the sweater, the criminal complaint said. She then requested it in another size while keeping the original sweater with her in the stall, papers state.  More

HOUSTON – A white Houston-area man was arrested Thursday on federal hate crimes charges for allegedly shooting video of himself sucker-punching a 79-year-old black man in a “knockout game”-style attack.

Conrad Alvin Barrett, 27, made a brief appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Frances Stacy, who scheduled a detention hearing for the Katy man on Friday.

According to prosecutors, the attack happened Nov. 24 in Katy, but it wasn’t until 12 days later that authorities connected the attack to the cellphone video of it.

Authorities learned of the case because Barrett allegedly showed the video on the night of the attack to an off-duty arson investigator he had just met at a restaurant in nearby Fulshear. More
